Mosque suicide bombers kill 79 in baghdad Agencies
"This Iraqi woman talks on her phone at the site of a suicide attack on a mosque in Baghdad, Iraq on Friday April 7, 2006. At least two suicide attackers wearing women's cloaks blew themselves up Friday in a Shiite mosque in northern Baghdad, killing 79 people and wounding more than 160, police said. It was the second major attack against Shiite targets in as many days."
First of all there is no justification for suicide and taking of life unjustly as follows:
"
do
not kill (or destroy) yourselves:
for verily Allah has been to you Most Merciful." (Surah
4:29)
"
take not life, which Allah has made sacred,
except by way of Justice and law: thus does He command you, that you may learn
wisdom." (Surah 6:151)
"
we ordained for the children of Israel that if any one slew
a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land -
it would be as if he slew the whole people
." (Sura
5:32)

Traditionally Islam at war has prohibited from killing non-combattents (women, children, the aged and the infirm). Also prohibited was the killing of monks in monasteries and those in places of worship. The prophet even prohibited the killing of prisoners but this has not been always followed in Islam.
Suicide bombers fear no human of divine law. They kill indiscriminately and even worshippers in Moques as can be seen from above. They are not martyrs in any true sense of the word and should not be regarded as such. Some are misguided individuals influenced toward such acts by leaders who use any mean to achieve their political end. May God have mercy on their souls. Muhammad stated:
"Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you,
but do not trangress limits,
for Allah does
not love trangressors."
(Surah 2:190)
If God does not love trangressors, there cannot be heaven for those who kill unjustly. The militant factions of Islam likes to call their struggle a Jihad or holy war. Jihad fundametally means struggle which is first of all against the evil inclinations of our nature. The second meaning of Jihad is the external struggle against injustice. The Jihad of suicide bombers is far from a holy war. They misuse the term to give their war legitimacy which it does not have in the eyes of God and mankind. In 1998 Osama Bin Laden tried to justify his call to Jihad or indiscrimitate killing by quoting Sura 5:9 as follows: "But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war)". Bin Ladan is taking this out of context. Verse 5, which he does not quote, continues, "but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." (Sura 9:5) Muhammad always mitigated Justice with Mercy which Bin Laden does not do. So Bin Ladin cannot justify his actions by quoting the Koran nor is he within Islam's tradition of a "just war".
