The early Christians believed not only in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist but also in His enduring presence which enabled them to bring communion to the sick and imprisoned. In time this led to the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and the Adoration of His Holy Presence enabling us to realize ever more deeply in our souls the great mystery before us.
Exposition
O Saving Victim opening wide
The gate of heaven to all below.
Our foes press on from every side;
Thine aid supply, Thy strength bestow.
To Thy great name be endless
praise Immortal Godhead, One in Three;
Oh, grant us endless length of days, In
our true native land with Thee.
Amen.
Christ who stands before the Father forever is our intercessor. In his being is realized the events of his life as the God-man who brings about our salvation. He is the Son of God born Mary from Nazareth of Judea. He died as a sacrifice for the Sin of the world and thus opened the way to Heaven for us. He is really present in the Blessed Sacrament as he is before the Father. Kneeling before Him, we adore and praise the Holy One of God and ask him to sustain us in our struggle against the powers of evil.
O
Sacrament most holy!
O Sacrament Divine!
All Praise
and all Thanksgiving
be every moment Thine.
Benediction
